An enriching catechetical experience throughout the year by means of different Bible lessons, action songs and class-wise skits, enriched our children this year in learning more about their faith, especially increasing their love for Jesus. Several activities were held almost every three months to give them a God-experience. The culmination of the entire year of catechesis was the Catechism Annual Day held on 10thMarch, which marked the end of the Catechetical Year 2018-2019.

A very good response from the parents encouraged the children to share with everyone, their God experience of the year. The program began with a welcome dance by the 5thstd. students, followed by actions songs and dances to the tune of God hymns rejoicing, praising and thanking God for all they have received by our little children of the 1st, 2ndand 3rdstd. with the help of their dedicated teachers, while our communion children (4th) shared about Stories of Jesus with beautiful questions after each act. The higher classes performed acts from Bible – 6thstd. enacted the Beatitudes, 8thstd gave an explanation of the various names of Jesus in the Bible, 9th std enacted the 5th Commandment with a very meaningful message and the program culminated with the explanation on the Hope and Visions from the Book of Revelations by the 7th std. The annual day also marked recognition of the children’s performance throughout the year.

Children were felicitated for highest attendance, highest marks, best book and overall performer. The younger children received gifts and as this year was announced as the year of ecology, the children of higher classes received saplings as a sign to love and protect nature. Even the teachers were felicitated for their dedication and hard work all through the year. A very good response and heart filled gratitude to the Lord for making this year yet another fruitful year of faith formation for the 300 children and a learning experience for the 26 catechists of Sacred Heart Parish, Yerwada.
